Mudrooms have become a higher priority as the pandemic left people looking for a place to stash masks, sanitize hands, and disinfect objects.  Create an efficient, organized space with these suggestions.

Location:

While robust mudrooms are ideal, consider adding mini "drop-zones" next to each entrance.  Even a small corner close to the door can be transformed with strategic storage and a small bench.

Functionality:

Aim to streamline processes like sanitzing footwear or locating rain gear.  Add whatever elements will best serve your household, such as baskets for shoes, a shelf for hand sanitizer, cubbies for backpacks, and hooks for jackets, masks, keys, and pet leashes.

Aesthetics:

A functional drop-zone doesn't have to be boring. Use a similar color palette to tie the space into adjoining rooms, and show off your style with art prints, a small houseplant, or a decorative mirror.

Keeping your family safe is important. And if you are considering selling your home, I find a drop-zone or disinfection area has been very well received by Buyers!
